Mahesh Babu disappoints Gowtham Menon

According to sources Tamil director Gowtham Menon is not happy with Mahesh Babu and his commitment. Gowtham Menon had high hopes of starting a Mahesh Babu’s film, but now those plans are dashed for about a year as Mahesh is yet to start Trivikram’s film. The ace director had dropped all other ventures in the hope of this venture.

“ Gautham Menon had clear plans with Mahesh, as a film with him would mean dual business in Tamil Nadu and Andhra, but now, since these plans are stalled, he is reportedly trying to work with Allu Arjun who incidentally happens to be another big hero who is sellable all across south,” said a source

Asin in Hindi Arundathi

Producer Madhu Mantena of Bollywood Ghazini has plans to produce a film in which the lead actress is beaten to death by village men pelting unbroken coconuts on her head. The film in question is a Telugu film called Arundhati and was directed by Kodi Ramkrishna. A source said, “Mantena went all the way to Hyderbad to watch the film and was quite shaken. He is negotiating for Arundhati’s rights.”

Sonu Sood who played the male lead in Arundhati said, “The violence in Arundhati is justified. It’s not uncalled for. I’d love to do the Hindi version of Arundhati.” The source added, “Sonu’s role in the Hindi version of Arundhati is uncertain. However Asin is expected to play the central role.” Madhu Mantena said, “I have seen Arundhati and we are in the process of deciding what to do next. We scored a big hit in a Telugu-to-Hindi remake and don’t mind doing one more.”

Slumdog Telugu rights for Rs 70 lakhs

Successful film Slumdog Millionaire, which bagged ten Oscar nominations, is being dubbed into Telugu and Tamil. It is said that a prominent producer has bought the dubbing rights of this film for Rs 70 lakhs. Music Director AR Rahaman bagged Golden Globe Award for this flick. Directed by Hollywood director Donny Boyle, this flick has got outstanding performances by Anil Kapur and Dev Patel.

Akki paired with Masakaali girl

Akshay kumar paired with masakaali girl(sonam kapoor) in the Rohit and David Dhawan helmed comic drama Come On Pappu.
The film is being jointly produced by Percept Picture Company and Akshay Kumar.
Budgeted at Rs 90 crore, the film focuses on the relationship between a chimp and the lead character (Akshay). It has been scripted by co-director Rohit, who is David's son.
Rohit, an alumnus of New York University, earlier assisted his father in Partner.
The film will feature a lot of special effects for which the producers have tied up with LA based Stan Winston Studios, known for creating creatures for the films such as Jurassic Park, Terminator, Indiana Jones and Batman Returns.

King drops plans to do film with Kammula

King Nagarjuna was very keen to do a film in the direction of Shekar Kammula. Nagarjuna even asked Kammula to prepare a script and even agreed to allot nine months for the film.
But some reports say that Nagarjuna is now in two minds about doing the film with Shekar Kammula. The reason is that hero Nagarjuna has bee doing mss action hero roles and his latest film King is also in the same genre. Shekar Kammula has a entirely different film and the film is very soft and slow to suit Nagarjuna's image, particularly after King. So it is highly unlikely that the film will now go ahead as planned.

Kalavaramaye Madilo with Swathi and Kamal

Mohan Media Creations which produced Mental Krishna, has launched Kalavaramaye Madilo with Swathi (Ashta Chemma heroine) and Kamal Kamaraju (Avakaya Biryani hero, also spelt Avakai Biriyani) in the lead. It will be produced by Mohan Vadlapatla and directed by Satish of Hope fame.At the official launch on January 22nd at Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad, producer Dil Raju released the logo of this film. Dil Raju had registered the title previously but gave it to Mohan Vadlapatla and Satish when he heard the film's story and thought this title would suit their script. The director thanked Dil Raju for his magnimonius gesture on the occasion of the film's muhurat. Satish also thanked Vadlapatla for agreeing to produce Kalavaramaye Madilo.Kamal Kamaraju said that he had bagged a different kind of role from that of Avakai Biryani. He also praised the entire team of Kalavaramaye Madilo for their dedication. He said, "Kalavaramaye Madilo is about an aspiring singer, played by Swathi."Malayalam music director Sarath is setting Vanamali's lyrics to music while dialogues are being penned by Lakshmi Bhupal.

Singer Hemachandra turns music director

With music directors singing themselves for their songs, singers have no choice but to take up music direction. Yet another singer turns music director. Hemachandra is composing music for a new film titled Ride being directed by Ramesh Varma. The film’s shoot has begun on Jan 29th. Hemachandra shot to fame with Zee Saregamapa Contest and then rendered several hit numbers in Telugu.
Ride has Tanish (Nachchavule fame), Naani (Ashta Chemma fame), Swetha Basu Prasad (Kotta Bangaru Lokam fame) and Aksha (Yuvatha) as the main lead while it is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.

Director remarks, "Any person can reach any great height but cannot forget his native place. We are sure that he would bag an award for his character. LB Sriram and Tanikella Bharani are playing key roles in the film. Sabu James is the cinematographer. KIKK on Feb 5th

The youthful romantic entertainer 'Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam' (KIKK) is set to grace theaters on the 5th of February. The film stars the vibrant youngsters Siddarth and Tamanna. Prominent roles are played by Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna and Brahmanandam. The film has been directed by debutant Kishore Kumar (Dolly) and has been produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas. Jagapathi Babu tying up with J.D. for two films

Homam, the first film in which J.D. Chakravarthy and Jagapathi Babu acted together, was a super-duper hit directed by J.D. himself. In fact, Homam was his acting debut in Telugu. After the success of Homam in which Jagapathy Babu played an undercover cop, J.D. and Jagapathy have become the best of friends.
Right now, Jagapathi Babu is playing the role of an encounter specialist in Siddham directed by J.D. and slated for a February release. The duo are even working on a sequel to the hit Raksha. Vamsi Krishna Akella, who directed Raksha, will direct the sequel as well.

Star Comedian wins Padma Shri

Tollywood has got two Padma awards this year. Apart from Krishna getting prestigious Padma Bhushan, star Comedian Brahmanandam too won Padma Shri.
He holds the Guinness Record as an actor with maximum number of films in short period, Brahmanandam has been ruling the Telugu film industry for more than two decades as the comedian.
Like other top heroes, he is a star on his own too. He played key role in the success of many super hits.
Other film personalities who won Padma Shri include Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar.

Srikanth’s 100th film starts in Feb 1st week

The much awaited Srikanth’s 100th film is getting ready for being launched in the first week of February. As had been the desire of Srikanth, this milestone film in his career is being directed by Krishna Vamsi.
Paruchuri Brothers have been entrusted with penning the story and dialogues. Both Srikanth and Krishna Vamsi are said to have determined to make this film in such a way that it would be a hit at the box office and getting awrds as well.
Though no details of the producers are available at the moment, reports indicate that pre=production work is in progress, while the cast and crew are in the process of being finalized.

A.R Rahman To Perform At The Oscars

Rahman in an interview has said that his wife Saira will also be travelling with him to the LA for the Oscar night ceremony.
